The length of any DMP depends on the following:-
1) How much you owe?
2) How much you pay back each month?
3) How much the DM provider is charging?
To work this out (without any charges or interest) follow the calculation below -
If you take the total you owe and divide by the monthly amount you can afford to pay, this equals the number of months required to clear the total owed.
(e.g.) £40,000 (amount owed) divided by £250 (monthly payment) = 160 monthly payments.
160 monthly payments equals 13.33 years to repay the total owed.
