All around the country, ordinary people, through no fault of their own are struggling to make ends meet.
Bankruptcies are continuing to rise, and the majority of these are not failed businesses but ordinary people like you and me. People who are just trying to get by, as best as they can. Perhaps they have overstretched themselves with their mortgage, or their fixed rate has come to an end, or maybe, due to the increase in utilities, fuel, tobacco and food, they just don’t have enough money left at the end of each month to pay their credit card bills etc.
It seems that Bankruptcy is sadly now a fact of life. But behind the statistics lies human tragedy; home repossessions, marriage break ups, stress, depression and sometimes even suicide have resulted as a result of financial failure.
Over 27,000 house repossessions took place in 2007, the highest figure since 1999.
These problems are with us for the foreseeable future.
